Vintage: 1994 Figawi Hat
The Figawi Race Weekend's origin story goes like this: Three friends were enjoying drinks at Baxter's Bar in Hyannis, MA, each confident that their boat was the fastest. To settle their dispute, they agreed to race from Hyannis to Nantucket.
In the midst of the intense competition and foggy conditions, one of the sailors exclaimed, "Where the f*** are we?" which, with a heavy Cape Cod twang, was interpreted as "where the figawi!"
The 1994 race attracted a record number of participants with over 230 boats registered and some serious weather conditions that proved too much of a challenge for may of the boats that couldn't finish.
Products are subject to imperfections due to the vintage nature. We believe those imperfections are what make these items one-of-a-kind. All vintage items are nonrefundable and ineligible for returns or exchanges.
*Note that there are small stains on the outer brim and discoloration on the inside along with the strap fastener has been replaced
