I had a similar raincoat (Britches) back in the 90s, in yellow. I was looking to replace it when I ran across this beautiful red number. I had to have it! The ordering experience was easy and it arrived exactly within the time window provided, with handy tracking from shop to doorstep. The box and packaging were very nice, and the included sticker was a nice touch.
This jacket is a bit of a work of art, with a beautiful red color and festive nautical lining. The weather is still a little too warm to wear it, but I can tell that it’s well-made and will truly repel water. It certainly feels like it could stand up to a significant downpour. I honestly can’t wait to break this out for the first chilly, rainy, late Fall day! I also appreciate the inside chest pocket — nicely sized for a cell phone — as well as the duel zip and snap closures. The copper/brass color buttons are also very nice and snap solid.
Can’t wait to wear this around town and for car camping adventures. Although it certainly could be, I don’t think this is really meant to be a backpackers jacket, and I have featherweight rain shells for that purpose. For my purposes, this is more about tackling wet weather, in style, in both town and country. Again, very well-made and worth the price. No issues to speak of. Only thing I would change is having the zipper on the right side…because having out on the left is kind of weird. But that’s no biggie.
All in all, very happy with the purchase and would buy from this company again, and plan to. Thanks, KJP!
