Jacqueline Patchwork Madras Shirtdress

The purchase of the Bar Harbour Patchwork Shirtdress brings my total to 3. The Jacqueline was my first purchase. Montauk was the second. Each dress fits slightly differently which I attribute to their authentic handmade construction. I love the genuine madras. The Bar Harbour is probably my favorite color way. These dresses fit easily and comfortably on the hottest day while receiving compliments. I cannot remember wearing one without someone admiring it. Although perfect for summer, I transition these dresses through the seasons with jean jackets, sweaters or a velvet blazer. When I want to dress them up, I change the belt to slim leather or raffia and add heels. The fit is generous but true to size. Care is easy. At 5'9" I love the length of these dresses. I would purchase the Americana Madras if it was made in this length or in a simple midi skirt. Please consider a madras midi skirt without the ruffle. A wrap or button front would be spectacular.

Love the dress and the colors of the Madras material. It fits true to size and is very comfortable.

I am delighted with the Montauk! The dress is very well constructed, of substantial weight, and arrived in Kiel James Patrick's lovely packaging. I have two madras blazers from other sources and they are not even close in quality. At 5' I'll be getting it hemmed, but this is not a complaint.

It's still too cool in New England to wear a sleeveless dress so I haven't worn it yet but I was pleased with the fit when I tried it on. The bodice fits fine. The skirt is full with stitching detail around the side seam pockets that isn't seen on the 'net, and the dress comes with a matching fabric belt. I'll be wearing my madras dress everywhere- everything in my closet matches a color in the Montauk. I'm crazy about my new dress.

I've always loved madras and finally found a perfect summer dress in this versatile, classic fabric. I know I'll enjoy this dress for many summers to come. Thank you, KJP!

I had called the help line before ordering to specify if the Jacqueline dress was the more blue toned Madras or red toned print. I was assured by the customer service rep that the Jacqueline is the more blue toned. The dress I recieved is definitely a red-based madras print and strikes me more as autumnal colors. Very disappointed after calling to confirm that my initial clarification questions were totally justified and I was not given the correct information.
