Still keeping and styling differently

First I want to say the fabric is so so lovely. The length in the arms is so surprising- usually arms fall just short for me, these didn't. The biggest problem I have is that the bust is way tight- I'm not voluptuous by any stretch (I can bounce between A and B cups....seriously I'm small) but the buttons just don't settle on the chest. They are tight and gape. I am keeping it because it's the coziest dress but I'm planning on styling with a camisole and leaving the buttons undone. Purchased a size 12.

Beautiful pattern, the cut needs improvement

Beautiful dress/pattern, but something isn't right with the cut: had to size up due to shoulders and hust areas being too tight. Normally I am a size 4-6, but had to go to 8 (shoulders are a better fit now, but the bust is still a bit tight)

I adore this dress

I’ve been eyeing these tartan dresses for a while now and finally took the plunge and ordered two. For reference, I’m 5’4” 134lbs and a 38/B. The dress is perfect except for the chest, like most reviews are saying. I have such a problem with shirt dresses because they look like they are going to pop a button LOL

I’m also a fashion designer, and my unsolicited advice to KJP to fix this fit issue is this: on the pattern for the bust portion, put 1/4” on each side of the bust near the armscye so that the targets are slightly longer. This should help with the bust fit. Another option, or maybe do this as well, is to sew either small buttons or snaps between each button from the bust to waistline. A popular outdoor store brand created a jean button up dress that has this and I think it’s the most brilliant design hack ever. It keeps the closure closed so that it’s not pulling apart at the bust like all the buttons are going to pop and you can see your bra peeking through from the side. I’m also self employed and would LOVE to help you with your designs and tech packs. :) :)
