The Quint Hat

I love the quality of this hat. The waxed canvass was excellent. Other reviews pointed out that the hat does tend to run big which is true. I like the fact that the hat is not rigid yet holds its shape nicely. This is a hat you can Stowe in your sea bag and pull it out and it will look great.

The Quint Hat is a quality piece of gear and I am very pleased with my purchase. The hat is a good fit on my head but it does run large. If you wear a 7 1/4 or smaller this hat isn’t for you. The leather strap that holds the buckle needs to be shortened to allow for smaller head sizes.

Let me start out by saying the cap is great. Built like a battleship, it would survive a shark attack. The cloth is not thick but it is heavily oiled and will repel any moisture. The bill is not structured but I knew that when I bought it, you can bend it, shape it, crease it, and do it all again and it will do what you want. The strap in the back is easily adjustable and fits me well. The only caveat I would give to anyone considering this cap is that it is hot. There is no ventilation which does not bother me necessarily, but something that should be known. I would buy it again. Feel like repeating dirty limericks and drinking a Narragansett when I put it on.

My husband just loves the hat. He so enjoys the Jaws movie. He was elated when he opened the box. I left it in the original box because it was wrapped so beautifully in patterned paper that matched the interior of the box. Well done.

I bought this for present for my husband however it runs extremely large and there no true way to size it since when you draw up the back the top
of the hat bubbles up.
